there was nothing more to do

and nothing more to say

so she curled up in a little ball

and tried to roll away

she rolled over lawn and drive

bounced far acoss the land

over mountains, through valleys

far across the burning sand

she rolled and rolled

past monuments iconic

the taj-mahal, la tour eiffel

it truly was ironic

in the red light district of amsterdam

she felt much more at home

or zipping through pere la chaise

while reciting oscar’s poems

finally, deflated, she rolled to a stop

upon a hill did her journey end

she found herself at home among

the graves of an author’s family and friends

Oh Wait, I Forgot!

One more story to relate from my date with the psychiatrist…it’s too ironic not to share…

So I’m talking to the doctor about my desire to take this trip.  She asked me where, exactly, I want to go.  I named the city and state.  She looked shocked.  I looked at her curiously.

Wait for it….her husband is from a town fifteen miles from where I want to go.

But wait, there’s more:  not only is he from there, he refuses to eat any barbecue sauce other than that from the restaurant in which my ex-loved one’s wife worked. HUH?  He has it shipped to him, has two gallons of it in his cabinet now.

What are the chances??

I mean, really.  In a town of thousands of psychiatrists, I pick the one who is married to a man from THERE who is still tied to THERE?  How the fuck does that happen??

See, even when I try to leave it alone, it finds ME.

A KISS Medley

what a band!

what great songs!!

oddly enough they tell our story…

not back in the new york groove

no room service for me

you said i stole your love

said c’mon and love me

but what you really wanted to know was

do you love me?

never believed it, did you?

yet you were always the

king of my nighttime world

and like thor, the god of thunder –

i knew i would love you forever.

you  thought i was a strutter

a black diamond, and you tried to

drink me away with your cold gin

but the thought that

i was made for loving you

wouldn’t go away

finally you hit rock bottom

and you reached out to talk to me

i said i still love you and

will be there tomorrow

but til then i would see you in your dreams

then i did all i could to trigger your love gun

to prove that i’d do anything for my baby

you answered swearing to my son

i’ll love her all i can

but then you decided

you couldn’t getaway

now the tears are falling, heaven’s on fire

and i’m left in the ladies room,

nothing but a hard luck woman,

dreaming of making love with you

even though you’re a two timer

damn i hate that band and their songs!

except then she kissed me.

no, i take that back.

i especially hate that one.
